1. Consistent Colors. By sticking to your favorite hues, you can create more outfits with fewer pieces.

2. Versatile footwear. Avoid temptation to take up suitcase space with loads of shoes (it’s so hard!!). DO make sure footwear covers all trip activities. Once you’re covered, ask yourself if there’s overlap. Can sneakers go with a dress and on a hike, etc.?

3. Lean Layers. Skip bulky pieces and opt for multipurpose lean layers. A couple examples headed Africa: a scarf that can be worn for warmth or an evening cover-up. And, this exact cropped linen blouse that doubles as a lightweight jacket and comes in many colors.
